USA Wrestling amasses more than 1 million followers on social media

USA Wrestling continues to extend its global social media reach, surpassing 1 million followers, collectively, on its four major social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

USA Wrestling’s distribution of followers is led by its Facebook page with 481,275 followers. Next is Instagram with 263,091 followers, followed by 192,353 followers on Twitter and 65,208 subscribers on YouTube.

“Achieving the milestone of 1 million social media followers is a fantastic step for USA Wrestling and the entire wrestling fan base in our country” USA Wrestling Manager of Communications Richard Immel said. “We continue to push innovation and strive to provide our followers the best content possible across all digital platforms. I am extremely proud of the work our team has put in and even more thankful to the wrestling community at large for embracing USA Wrestling in its efforts to grow wrestling’s reach on a global scale.”

With its 1,001,927 followers, USA Wrestling ranks No. 6 among all 47 U.S. national governing bodies within the United States Olympic Committee network, including Summer and Winter Olympic sports.

Ahead of wrestling in total followers is USA Basketball with just over 8 million, U.S. Soccer with more than 7 million, USA Gymnastics with nearly 2.5 million, USA Volleyball with 1.3 million and USA Swimming with 1.2 million.

USA Wrestling’s Facebook and YouTube pages have the fifth-highest following of any National Governing Body, while the Instagram and Twitter pages rank in the top-10 of the Olympic family, with Instagram coming in at No. 7 and Twitter checking in at No. 9.

Additionally, USA Wrestling has the largest digital footprint of any entity in the sport of wrestling.
