Megan Black: "I need to step it up another notch. I want to be up on that podium."
by USA Wrestling
Megan Black has some high goals for her senior year at McKendree University, including capturing a gold medal at the U23 World Championships in Poland in November, and winning her first WCWA national title in February. Black made big news in high school at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High, making the Iowa state meet competing against the boys. She also claimed a Junior National freestyle title. Black started her career at King University, where she placed seventh as a freshman. Black transferred to McKendree, and has been a two-time WCWA runner-up there. She made her first USA Wrestling World Team by winning the U23 Trials in October. She was also among the women college wrestlers at the NWCA All-Star Classic this year, winning her 130-pound bout over Shelby Hall of Campbellsville, 6-0.
