Job Opportunity: USA Wrestling National Team ATC

Reports to: Dr. Dustin Nabhan DC, USOC Director – Clinical Research and Multidisciplinary Care

Duties & Responsibilities of the National Team ATC:


1. Health care for the designated athletes to include: emergency care and treatment of injuries, active care therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, therapeutic modalities, taping/bracing and soft tissue treatment. . Assist with patient management to include arranging referrals to outside providers, as directed. Perform additional allied duties, as permitted by state law.


2. Provide for patient care activities as needed in accordance with the licensure, scope of practice, standards and functions of his/her individual professional licensure, job description and standards for appropriate practice, including clinical competency and documentation.


3. Perform as a high performance medical team member and participate in the functions and activities essential to clinic operations. Refer to, and accept referrals from, medical team members including physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists, certified athletic trainers, USOC Sports Performance staff and others. Participate in the daily care of athletes, including performance enhancing, preventative, routine cares.


4. Be in compliance with medical/legal requirements for the States of employment as well as any other states in which the individual supports the USOC or NGB at sporting events or activities.


5. Maintain compliance with IOC, WADA, USADA, and the Olympic Code in order to provide for maximum sports performance from each athlete.


6. Maintain knowledge of up to date techniques in the enhancement, prevention, and care of athletic injuries.


7. Assist in developing and maintaining professional working relationships including Sports Performance partners, USA Wrestling, and outside parties.


8. Work cooperatively with the National Team Staff and USOC Sports Performance teams to implement the enhancement of athletic performance and the prevention of potential injuries through programming and other measures.


9. Attend all training sessions of resident program and training camps to monitor health and wellbeing of athletes. This includes the three disciplines: Greco-Roman, Women’s Freestyle, and Men’s Freestyle.


10. Travel with National Teams, providing medical support during competitions held both nationally and internationally.


11. Accompany injured athletes to hospitals and Sports Medicine Clinic.


12. Communicate to high performance teams and USA Wrestling Staff the status of injured athletes, while maintaining appropriate compliance with privacy laws.


13. Collaborate with physicians in order to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.


14. Record and enter athlete medical data into electronic health record system in a timely manner for maintenance of athlete medical records.


15. Propose yearly budget needs in regard to supplies and equipment for resident training, camps and tours.


16. Perform team-support duties such as maintaining equipment and stocking supplies.


17. Keep work areas, to include the Wrestling gym and USOC Sports Medicine Clinic, safe, clean and organized.


18. Coordinate and execute special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training

Licensure & Certification:

• Current Health Care Provider CPR certification

• Licensure or certificate in good standing as an Athletic Trainer

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of sports medicine clinical experience after licensure or certification

• Experience with a variety of high level athletes and sports, preferred

• Experience with combat sport, preferred

• Multidisciplinary Clinic experience preferred

• Electronic Health Record experience preferred

Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including medical documentation.

• Working knowledge of Word and Excel computer programs.

• Must be willing and able to travel and work irregular hours.

• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population including, but not limited to, athletes, coaches, administrative staff, physicians, volunteers and other medical personnel.

• Knowledge in the areas of:

 Injury/illness prevention and treatment

 Sport Performance enhancement

 Emergency medicine skills

 Annual Blood Borne Pathogen Training

 Antidoping

Other:

• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

• Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.

• Pass a background check and Medical Credential Review.

• Abide by the USA Wrestling and the USOC Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics.
