LAS VEGAS – Flowrestling continues its live coverage of USA Wrestling national events this week with the 2017 U.S. Open Wrestling Championships being streamed on Flowrestling.com, April 26-29.
The live coverage from South Point Arena will feature every match from the Greco-Roman and women’s freestyle U.S. World Team Trials, men’s freestyle U.S. Open, UWW Junior Nationals, Masters Nationals and Grappling World Team Trials.
Among the Senior-level athletes expected to compete in Las Vegas this weekend are Olympic champions Helen Maroulis and Jordan Burroughs, World medalists Alli Ragan, Elena Pirozhkova and James Green, and Olympians Jesse Thielke, Ildar Hafizov, Ellis Coleman, Ben Provisor, Robby Smith, Haley Augello and Frank Molinaro.
The champions of the U.S. World Team Trials in Greco-Roman and women’s freestyle qualify to compete at the Senior World Championships in Paris, France, August 21-26.
The U.S. Open serves as the largest World Team Trials qualifier for the men’s freestyle division. Seven qualification spots in each weight class are on the line in men’s freestyle with champions at 57 kg/125.5 lbs., 65 kg/143 lbs., 70 kg/154 lbs., 74 kg/163 lbs. and 125 kg/275 lbs. earning automatic berths to the U.S. World Team Trials best-of-three championship series.
