Membership registration now available online for 2016-17 USA Wrestling season

The new 2016-2017 USA Wrestling membership year kicks off today.
Online registration has begun, allowing people to either renew their membership or purchase a new membership for the upcoming season. The USA Wrestling membership season runs from September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2017.

Membership can be purchased for the categories of Athlete, Coach or Official. In addition, you can now purchase a club charter for the year, or apply for a sanction for a USA Wrestling event.
All member coaches and officials must pass mandatory background screening as part of their membership process. The background screening is valid for two membership seasons.
All member coaches and officials are able to complete USOC Safe Sport training at no cost.
Another popular feature available when joining online is that USA Wrestling members are able to purchase a plastic membership card along with the membership.
For the first time, in partnership with WIN Magazine, USA Wrestling members will now be able to purchase an additional six issues of WIN Magazine for $18. To take advantage of this great benefit, call WIN at 888-305-0606.

• USA Wrestling set records for number of athletes (199,409) and coaches (31,655) in 2015-16.
• In terms of athlete members, the top 10 states last year were: 1-California, 2-Illinois, 3-Wisconsin, 4-Kansas, 5-New York, 6-Indiana, 7-Missouri, 8-Oregon, 9-Pennsylvania, 10-Washington.
• In terms of coach members, the top 10 states were: 1-Illinois, 2-California, 3-Wisconsin, 4-Kansas, 5-Missouri, 6-New Jersey, 7-Colorado, 8-Washington, 9-Georgia, 10-Minnesota.
• The state association with the most growth in 2015-16 was Oklahoma with 315% growth in membership from 1841 to 5798 (athletes and coaches)
