A report from the Blue Mountain Eagle, from Grant County, Oregon, has reported the Eastern Oregon University will reinstate varsity wrestling.
Eastern Oregon competes in the NAIA. It had a rich wrestling history in the past. In fact, there are seven wrestlers in Eastern Oregon's Athletics Hall of Fame, listed with their year of induction: Rollin Schimmel ('87), Craig Woodard ('91), Charles Holiday ('05), Michael McCoy ('07), John Kreusi ('08), Greg Nelson ('09), John Bilyeu, Jr. ('14).
There is no official announcement on Eastern Oregon University's websites to date.

EOU returns to college wrestling
Eastern Oregon University is re-establishing its wrestling program.
State Rep. Greg Smith (R-Heppner) helped secure a $300,000 allocation from the Oregon Legislature to offer the collegiate sport in Eastern Oregon.
“Eastern Oregon is home to many wrestling champions both on individual and team levels,” Smith said. “EOU is unable to attract these athletes who desire to continue wrestling in college. I believe wrestling will give EOU another tool for recruitment and help keep our youth in Eastern Oregon.”
During the 2015 Legislative Session, Smith worked with leadership and a group called Restore College Wrestling to find funding to reactivate a wrestling program at Eastern Oregon University, which is Eastern Oregon’s only university.
