36th Virginia Duals set for Jan. 8-9 in Hampton Va., with strong college and high school fields

An American wrestling tradition, the Virginia Duals, will present its 36th edition at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Va., January 8-9.
The Virginia Duals set the standard for major dual meet competitions, and features outstanding action on both the college and high school levels.

Action on all 10 mats will be broadcast live by Flowrestling.
The National College Division features 12 teams, which will be split into four pools of three teams, which wrestle in a roundrobin. Based on the results from the pool competition, teams will be placed in either the gold pool, the silver pool or the bronze pool. Among the teams featured are No. 5 Virginia Tech, No. 18 Iowa State and No. 24 Old Dominion. Seven different conferences are featured, plus and independent school.

The American College Division features eight teams, which will compete in an eight-team bracket. Teams from NCAA Div. II, NCAA Div. III, the NJCAA and the NCWA are included. Included in the field are Ferrum College (ranked No. 25 in Div. III), Central Florida (ranked No. 1 in NCWA Div. I), Liberty (ranked No. 2 in NCWA Div. I) and the Apprentice School (ranked No. 7 in NCWA Div. I).
