Irving, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced an agreement with FloSports to live stream the 2016 Big 12 Championships for indoor track & field and wrestling on FloTrack and FloWrestling, respectively.
Every event from the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championship Feb. 26-27 in Ames, IA., will be available live and on-demand on FloTrack.com. All preliminary rounds of the Big 12 Wrestling Championship March 5-6 will be available live and on-demand on FloWrestling.com.
“The Big 12 is excited to be partnered with FloSports for these two championship events,” commented Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby. “I appreciate the cooperation of our television rights holder for these championships, FOX Sports, in making this partnership possible. Through FloSports, we are positioned to reach a broad audience of passionate track & field and wrestling fans.”
The final rounds of the Big 12 Wrestling Championship will be telecast live March 6 at 1 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Regional Networks. Check local listings for additional details.
“Working with the Big 12 to expand the reach of their Conference Championships in indoor track & field and wrestling to die-hard fans worldwide is an incredible opportunity,” FloSports co-founder and CEO Martin Floreani said. “Some of the top teams and athletes in the U.S. will be competing in these Championships, and we’re excited to showcase their talents to our global audience.”
Monday’s news follows FloSports’ three-year agreement with 13-time Big 12 wrestling champion Oklahoma State in November to make FloWrestling the Cowboys’ live streaming partner. In the announcement, Cowboys wrestling coach John Smith called FloWrestling “the best media source in the world for the sport of wrestling.”
Historical powerhouse programs such as Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Iowa State will highlight the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championship, while the Big 12 Wrestling Championship will feature nationally-ranked programs such as Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Iowa State among others.
Additional coverage, including breaking news, live results, commentary and analysis, will be available on both FloTrack and FloWrestling for the respective Championship events. In addition, FloWrestling’s FloArena software will allow viewers of the Big 12 Wrestling Championship to toggle between live mats seamlessly and receive live scoring in an easy-to-follow bracket format.
