World bronze medalist Andy Bisek shown at the 2015 World Championships is ranked fifth in latest UWW rankings.
2014 and 2015 World bronze medalist Andy Bisek (Colorado Springs, Colo./Minnesota Storm) is the top American in the UWW World Greco-Roman rankings for February 2016, with a No. 5 ranking at 75 kg/165 lbs.
Bisek placed eighth in the UWW Golden Grand Prix Finals in Baku, Azerbaijan in November, his only competition since winning his bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships in Las Vegas.
Two-time World bronze medalist Justin Lester (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) also cracked the top 10 coming in at No. 7 at 71kg/156.5 lbs. while three-time U.S. World Team member Robby Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) ranks No. 11 at 130 kg/286 lbs.
Lester, who was eighth at the 2015 World Championships, won silver at Bill Farrell International in New York City in November and recently took third at U.S. Senior Nationals in Las Vegas. Lester competed up at 75 kg/165 lbs. in both events.
Smith, who has placed fifth in the World Championships two of the last three years, won the gold medal at the S.A. Lavrikov Greco-Roman Championships in St. Peterburg, Russia back in December.
Two other 2015 U.S. World Team members are ranked: Bryce Saddoris (Camp LeJeune, N.C./U.S. Marine Corps), who is No. 18 at 66 kg/145.5 lbs., and Spenser Mango (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP), who is No. 19 at 59 kg/130 lbs.
Mango has wrestled in four events since the Worlds, including winning a gold medal at the Bill Farrell International in New York City and most recently taking home the silver medal at U.S. Senior Nationals.
Saddoris, who was injured in his final match at the World Championships, recently returned to action at the Grand Prix Zagreb Open in Zagreb, Croatia but did not place.
The other two Americans with rankings are Joe Rau (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm), who is No. 19 at 98 kg/215 lbs. and Toby Erickson (East Helena, Mont./New York AC), who is No. 20 at 130 kg/286 lbs.
Rau won gold at the U.S. Senior Nationals back in December and most recently placed second at the Grand Prix Zagreb Open. Erickson pushed his way into the rankings after an impressive victory at the 18th Annual Dave Schultz Memorial Tournament, his first senior international tournament victory.
