Turkey lineup set for Freestyle Wrestling World Cup in LA, April 11-12

The wrestling federation of Turkey has provided its lineup for the 2015 Freestyle Wrestling World Cup, which will be held at the Forum, presented by Chase, April 11-12 in Inglewood, Calif.
The World Cup is the annual international dual meet championships, and will feature the top eight men’s freestyle wrestling teams in the world.
The Turkish team will be led by 2014 World champion Taha Akguel at 125 kg/276 lbs. Akguel has won the last three European titles (2012, 2013 and 2014), placed third at the 2013 World Championship, and competed in the 2012 Olympic Games.
Two-time World medalist Sezer Akguel is the entry at 57 kg/125.5 lbs. He placed second in 2009 World Championship, third in 2013 World Championships and fifth in 2007 World Championships. He was also a 2008 Olympian.
2014 World silver medalist Yakup Gor is expected at 70 kg/154 lbs. Gor was third at the 2014 European Championship and a 2013 World Cup champion.
2012 World University champion Mustafa Kaya is on the team at 65 kg/143 lbs. Kaya was fifth in the 2014 World Championship and second in the 2010 Junior European Championships.
2013 World Cup silver medalist Muenir Recep Aktas is on the roster at 61 kg/134 lbs. Aktas was fifth in the 2013 European Championship, third in the 2012 World University Championship and seventh in the 2013 World University Games.
Turkey placed third at the 2014 World Championships, which were held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The eight nations which will compete for the World Cup are (alphabetically): This year’s field includes Azerbaijan, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Mongolia, Russia, Turkey and the United States.Nations were invited based upon final team standings at the 2014 World Championships.
Turkey has drawn into Group B, and will face Iran, Belarus and Azerbaijan.
All-Session tickets are available, as well as Single-Day tickets. Fans can purchase All-Session tickets for $60 for General Admission and $85 for Preferred Seating. There will be two sessions of wrestling action each day of the Freestyle World Cup. On Saturday, April 11, there will be sessions held at 3:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. On Sunday, April 12, the first session is at 11:00 a.m., with the First Place and Third Place Championship Duals set for 4:15 p.m.
The 2014 Freestyle World Cup were also held in Los Angeles, with Iran winning the team title, Russia placing second and the United States in third.
