Fifteen Team USA athletes land spots in March UWW freestyle rankings

The new United World Wrestling men’s freestyle rankings are now available.
There are 15 American athletes that are ranked among the top 20 men’s freestyle wrestlers in the world at their weight class.
The top ranked American remains Jordan Burroughs (Lincoln, Neb./Sunkist Kids) at the number three spot at 74 kg/163 lbs. Burroughs was third at the 2014 World Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He is a two-time World champion and an Olympic gold medalist.
The next highest ranked American is 2014 World bronze medalist Tervel Dlagnev (Columbus, Ohio/Sunkist Kids), who is No. 5 at 125 kg/275 lbs.
Also ranked is three-time World team member Brent Metcalf (Iowa City, Iowa/NYAC) who is No. 8 at 65 kg, Nick Marable (Morgantown, W. Va./Sunkist Kids) who is No. 9 at 70 kg and Andrew Howe (Norman, Okla./NYAC) who is No. 17 at 74 kg.
Clayton Foster (Laramie, Wyo./Grit WC) moved up six spots from his previous ranking of 17th in the world to the No. 11 spot at 86 kg/189 after a silver medal performance at the Cerro Pelado International in Havana, Cuba in February.
Aaron Pico (Whittier, Calif./Titan Mercury WC), who was previously ranked No. 17, currently sits at the No. 14 spot for 65 kg/143 lbs after earning gold at the Cerro Pelado International. Pico was second at the 2014 Junior World Championships.
2009 Junior World bronze medalist Jordan Oliver (Tempe, Ariz./Sunkist Kids) moved up two places to take over the No. 18 spot at 65 kg.
Tony Ramos (Iowa City, Iowa/Titan Mercury WC/Hawkeye WC), who was a 2014 World Team member, is now ranked No. 18 in the world at 57 kg/125.5 lbs.
Six Americans who were not previously ranked in February joined the international rankings for March. Joey McKenna (Towaco, N.J./Lehigh Valley AC) is No. 20 at 61 kg/134 lbs, Reece Humphrey (Columbus, Ohio/NYAC) is No. 19 at 65 kg, Dustin Schlatter (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) is No. 17 at 70 kg, Kevin LeValley (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) is No. 18 at 70 kg/154 lbs, J.D. Bergman (Columbus, Ohio/NYAC) who is No. 16 at 97 kg/213 lbs and Zach Rey (Bethlehem, Pa./Lehigh Valley AC) who is No. 16 at 125 kg.
The top-ranked freestyle wrestlers in the world in March were: Jong Hak-Jin of North Korea (57 kg), Aleksander Bogomoev of Russia (61 kg), Soslan Ramonov of Russia (65 kg), Khetik Tsabolov of Russia (70 kg), Denis Tsargush of Russia (74 kg), Abdulrashid Sadulaev of Russia (86 kg), Abdusalam Gadisov of Russia (97 kg) and Taha Akgul of Turkey (125 kg).
