Tickets on sale for World Team Trials in Madison, WI, June 12-14

Tickets are now available for fans to watch the nation’s best wrestlers compete at the 2015 U.S. World Team Trials in men’s and women’s freestyle, June 12-14 at the Coliseum at Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wis.
Tickets are also currently on sale for the Junior World Team Trials in men’s freestyle, featuring athletes in the UWW Junior age division (17-20 years old). The event is held alongside the U.S. World Team Trials and will feature some of the best wrestling talent from the collegiate and high school levels.
The U.S. World Team Trials will determine the entire men’s Freestyle World Team, as well as establish the final four weight classes for the women’s Freestyle World Team. In effect, the event will finalize both the men’s and women’s freestyle teams for the 2015 Senior World Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sept. 7-12.
The results of the Junior World Team Trials will determine the men’s freestyle teams competing in the Junior World Championships in Recife, Brazil, Aug. 11-16.
The Wisconsin Regional Training Center is working with the Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association, Wisconsin Wrestling Federation and the Madison Area Sports Commission as local organizers for the event.
"We are excited about getting the World Team Trials back in Madison. We had a great response last year. The event is two weeks later than it was in 2014, so there will be no conflicts with school schedules with this year’s dates," said Tournament Director Mitch Hull, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Regional Training Center.
The first session of the U.S. World Team Trials will begin on Saturday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m., with finals set at 5:00 p.m. The action will continue the next day, June 14, at 10:00 a.m., with finals set at 5:00 p.m.
The Junior World Team Trials will begin Friday, June 12 with a challenge tournament at 9:00 a.m., followed by finals trials, which includes a best of three series, starting at 2:00 p.m.
Tickets are available for purchase through Ticketmaster by going directly to the U.S. World Team Trials ticket location on their website, www.ticketmaster.com.
A half-price general admission ticket package is available for high school teams/groups of 10 or more. Contact the Madison Ticket Agency at (608) 267-3995 to purchase the team/group tickets.
Top international stars including Olympic and World Champion Jordan Burroughs, Olympic Champion Jake Varner, two-time World medalist Tervel Dlagnev, World Champion and Olympic medalist Clarissa Chun, two-time World Champion Adeline Gray, Olympic medalist Coleman Scott and Olympic medalist Randi Miller are expected to compete.
Athletes training at the Wisconsin Regional Training Center expected to challenge for the U.S. Team include: UW Assistant Coach Kyle Ruschell, three-time NCAA DIII Champion Nazar Kulchytskyy, 2014 World Team Trials placer Conner Medbery and UWW Junior National Champion Ricky Robertson. In addition, Wisconsin native and two-time World bronze medalist Alyssa Lampe is also expected to wrestle.
With only 909 reserved seats available, which includes an even more limited amount of VIP seating, fans are encouraged to order their reserved tickets as soon as possible. The U.S. World Team Trials and Junior World Team Trials will feature an entire competition held on two raised mats. The aim is to provide an enhanced and more enjoyable viewing for all spectators.
“We want to encourage people to get their tickets early. We have had some presale in Wisconsin, but good seats are still available,” said Hull.
This will be the second straight year USA Wrestling has hosted the World Team Trials in Madison, as well as the third event of its kind held in the state of Wisconsin.
