World champions Burroughs, Snyder are No. 1 in December UWW World freestyle rankings

2015 World champions Jordan Burroughs (Lincoln, Neb./Sunkist Kids/Nebraska RTC) and Kyle Snyder (Woodbine, Md./Titan Mercury WC/Ohio RTC) remain No. 1 in the UWW World freestyle rankings for December 2015.
Burroughs, who won his third career World title, to go with a 2012 Olympic gold medal, remained on top of the 74 kg/163 lbs. World freestyle rankings. Burroughs has not competed since the World Championships in Las Vegas in September.
Snyder, who became the youngest U.S. Senior World champion when he won the 97 kg/213 lbs. World title in Las Vegas in September, also remained in the No. 1 spot in the UWW December rankings. Snyder has not competed since Las Vegas, but is scheduled to wrestle at the Brazil Cup this weekend.
2015 World bronze medalist James Green (Lincoln, Neb./Titan Mercury WC/Nebraska RTC) comes in with a No. 4 UWW World freestyle ranking at 70 kg/154 lbs. Green has not competed since winning his World medal in Las Vegas.
Overall, there are 10 American men’s freestyle wrestlers with UWW World rankings. The USA has three athletes ranked at 65 kg/143 lbs. At No. 10 is 2015 U.S. World Team member Brent Metcalf (Iowa City, Iowa (New York AC/Hawkeye WC). The other two Americans were not ranked in the last UWW ranking. Moving into the rankings this month at No. 14 is Logan Stieber, Columbus, Ohio (Titan Mercury WC/Ohio RTC), while Jimmy Kennedy (Ann Arbor, Mich./New York AC/Cliff Keen WC) comes in at No. 20.
Metcalf has not competed since placing 10th at the World Championships. Stieber has won silver medals at the Bill Farrell International in New York City, as well as the UWW Golden Grand Prix Finals in Baku, Azerbaijan. Kennedy won a silver medal at Intercontinental Cup in Khasavyurt, Russia, and was seventh at the UWW Golden Grand Prix Finals.
Other 2015 U.S. World Team members in the December rankings are Tony Ramos (Iowa City, Iowa/Titan Mercury WC/Hawkeye WC), who is No. 13 at 57 kg/125.5 lbs., Zach Rey (Bethlehem, Pa./Lehigh Valley AC), who is No. 14 at 125 kg/275 lbs. and Reece Humphrey (Columbus, Ohio/New York AC/Ohio RTC), who is No. 17 at 61 kg/134 lbs.
Ramos most recently competed at the World Clubs Cup in Mazandaran, Iran, a dual meet competition. Rey was second in the Intercontinental Cup in Russia. Humphrey has not wrestled since competing in Las Vegas at the World Championships.
After winning a gold medal at the Bill Farrell International at 86 kg/189 lbs., Ed Ruth (Tempe, Ariz./Sunkist Kids) moves to No. 19 in the UWW World rankings.
