ESPN has announced five re-air dates for the E.60 show with the feature on Kentucky wrestler Willie Burton, who was able to compete in spite of dealing with cerebral palsy.
The show will air five more times, on either ESPN2 or ESPNEWS. The dates (subject to change) are:
Wednesday, October 22 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2
Saturday, Ocotber 25 at 5:00 a.m. ET on ESPN2
Sunday, October 26 at 4:00 a.m. ET on ESPNEWS
Tuesday, October 28 at 2:00 a.m. ET on ESPN2
Friday, October 31 at 5:00 a.m. on ESPN2
The show was initially aired on ESPN on October 21. The segment, entitled “Will Power,” is an inspiring feature about a high school wrestler with cerebral palsy, narrated by Olympic gold medalist Dan Gable. Also in the show are an in-depth NFL profile on Dallas Cowboys All-Pro Tight End Jason Witten and an investigative piece involving the topic of race and the use of deadly force by police, that has sparked a national debate.
“WILL POWER”
Wrestling legend Dan Gable narrates the story of Willie Burton, a teenage wrestler from Fairdale, Kentucky. Born with cerebral palsy, Willie’s ability to move, even walk, has always been compromised.
When he started high school he decided he wanted to do a sport, and chose wrestling. Despite his coaches’ reservations, Willie passed his physical, joined the team, and had only one request: “Treat me like everyone else.”
Over the next four seasons everyone did just that, and Willie lost over 100 matches. But what Willie, his teammates, coaches and school gained over that period cannot be measured.
