On May 13, wrestler Obenson Blanc accepted a sanction for a June 22, 2013 positive test for a substance called ostarine, which he had never heard of and which substance is apparently a pharmaceutical product that is still in clinical trials. Prior to accepting this sanction, Mr. Blanc did everything within his power to try to determine the cause of his positive test, including having all of his supplements and medications tested for the possible presence of ostarine. Mr. Blanc’s suspension will end on June 21, 2015, and he intends to return to wrestling at that time.

In responding to the sanction, Obenson Blanc stated as follows:

“The past 10 months have been the most difficult of my life, as I have never taken ostarine or any banned substance. I did everything I could to try to prove this fact, or to try to explain how this positive test could have occurred – I had all of my supplements tested, I took a polygraph exam where I was found to be truthful when I stated that I have never knowingly taken or possessed ostarine, and I even offered to be interviewed by USADA to try to figure out what could have happened. At the end of the day, though, I still had no answers, and so rather than fighting what would certainly have been a losing battle, I made the difficult decision to accept a sanction for a positive test for a substance that I have never taken. I will return to wrestling in June 2015, and I will be successful when I return. I'd like to thank TMWC for their support and belief level in all that has occurred.”
