Dennis Papadatos named Hofstra head coach

Hofstra has announced through its Twitter feed that former Hofstra wrestler Dennis Papadatos will return to serve as its new head wrestling coach.
Hofstra posted a photo as well as the following Tweet on Friday

Papadatos replaces Rob Anspach, who resigned from the Hofstra position on June 21 to take a new position with Advantage Sports and Fitness.
Papadatos was a two-time NCAA qualifier for Hofstra as an athlete and also served three years as an assistant coach for Hofstra. His other assistant coaching stints were at Northern Illinois, Binghamton and North Carolina.
A full press release on Papadatos will be announced on Monday by Hofstra.
DENNIS PAPADATOS COACHING BIO FROM NORTH CAROLINA
Dennis Papadatos joined the Carolina wrestling program as an assistant coach in 2012, and is in his second full season as a member of the Tar Heel coaching staff.
Papadatos works with the upper weight classes at UNC after a very successful stint with Binghamton. Papadatos spent five years at Binghamton and helped produce 16 NCAA individual qualifiers and a pair of All-Americas.
Binghamton sent six wrestlers to the NCAA Championships in back-to-back years during his final two years before Papadatos stepped away from coaching following the 2010-11 season.
Prior to his time at Binghamton, Papadatos was an assistant coach at Northern Illinois where he spent the 2005-06 season as an assistant coach for the Huskies.
Papadatos spent three seasons working as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Hofstra.
As an undergraduate, Papadatos was a four-year starter for the Hofstra wrestling team - one of the East Coast's premier programs. During his tenure at Hofstra, Papadatos amassed 97 career victories en route to two appearances in the NCAA Division I wrestling championships at 157 pounds. He was also a three-time member of the Division I Academic All-America wrestling team (1999-2001).
A certified personal trainer, Papadatos graduated from Hofstra in 2000 with a degree in exercise physiology and completed a master's in health education from Hofstra in 2002.
A native of Long Island, N.Y., Dennis and his wife Angela are the proud parents of their 5-year-old daughter Gabriella, 3-year-old son Apostoli and 1-year-old son Yianni.
