The Des Moines Register and DesMoinesRegister.com is making a seven-month commitment to coverage of the International Olympic Committee's decision about whether to include wrestling at the 2020 Olympics and beyond. "Wrestling's Olympic Fight" will provide a mix of faces and voices from that sport's world - along with a special feature posted each Wednesday - until the final vote in early September.
Sports columnist Bryce Miller will lead the project. Miller has covered wrestling at three Olympics - 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London. He's also covered multiple NCAA Championships and the Iowa high school state tournament.
