LeValley wins gold, U.S. gets four more medals at Cerro Pelado International in Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba -- Kevin LeValley (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) won a gold medal at 66 kg/145.5 lbs., as all four U.S. athletes competing on Saturday won medals at the Cerro Pelado International.
LeValley, the former Bucknell All-American now training in Minnesota, won all three of his bouts. He opened with wins over Nain of Brazil and Carbonell of Cuba. In the finals, he stopped Sanchez of Cuba, 0-2, 2-0, 2-1.
2009 U.S. World Team member Trent Paulson, Ames, Iowa (Sunkist Kids) won a silver medal at 74 kg/163 lbs. Paulson opened with wins over Lue of Canada and Quintana of Cuba. In the finals, he fell to Blanco of Cuba, 3-0, 0-1, 2-0.
Bronze medals went to a pair of wrestlers from the Cyclone WC in Ames, Iowa, Evan Brown at 84 kg/185 lbs. and Deron Winn at 96 kg/211.5 lbs. Both had 2-1 records.
Brown beat Perez of Dominican Republic, 0-4, 3-3, 1-1 in the bronze-medal match. Winn stopped Latour of Canada for the bronze, 7-0, 0-1, 3-0.
The U.S. won two medals on Friday, bringing the two-day total of medals to six.
