Anonymous giver makes Annual Giving matching gift challenge of $10K for USA Wrestling
by Larry Nugent USA Wrestling
An anonymous patron of USA Wrestling has made a matching challenge to potential donors to USA Wrestling’s Annual Giving Campaign. The challenge is to stimulate private donations that will match the $10,000 pledge.
“USA Wrestling is very grateful for this opportunity. The patron making this challenge is hoping to bring awareness to USA Wrestling’s Annual Giving Campaign”, said USAW Director of Development Larry Nugent.
The campaign has four giving levels that start with the $25.00 “Partner Member Level”. The Partner Member Level benefits are:
• A one-year USA Wrestling Partner Membership (non-competitive)
• A one year subscription to the USA Wrestler
• A personalized USA Wrestling membership card
• A complimentary gift
The highest giving level is the Gold Level which starts at $2,500.00 The first 15 patrons of the Gold Level have the opportunity to add $500.00 to their donation and will receive a beautiful limited edition LeRoy Nieman serigraph painting of the late Olympic Champion Dave Schultz.
Schultz was one of the sport’s most charismatic personalities and the artist, LeRoy Neiman, was probably the most popular living artist in the United States before his passing in June 2012. The painting is a limited edition, as the barrier breaking artist individually signed the white space surrounding the paintings.
With the blockbuster feature film “Foxcatcher” set for release in 2014, this rare and beautiful piece of art will be even more sought after. The movie stars Steve Carell, Channing Tatum, Mark Ruffalo and Sienna Miller. "Foxcatcher" tells the true story of John du Pont (Carell), the schizophrenic millionaire du Pont chemical heir who shot and killed Olympic Champion wrestler Dave Schultz (Ruffalo) at his compound in 1996.
For a wrestling enthusiast, this special work of art is singular among all wrestling artifacts. Specialized shipping and handling is used to protect the painting from damage and weather. To learn more go to: http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Wrestling/annual-giving
