FLASH: Lehigh puts eight in semis to lead over Cornell at EIWA Championships

Lehigh, with eight semifinalists, took a 7.5 point lead over defending champion Cornell, with six in the semifinals.


Lehigh had 73.5 points, followed by Cornell with 66, American with 51, Penn with 45 and Rutgers with 40.


Cornell lost two of their higher seeds in the quarters. No. 3 Chris Villalonga lost to No. 6 Shane Welch of Lehigh in overtime at 149 pounds. Also, No. 3 Marshall Peppleman was beaten by No. 6 Coleman Gracey of Army at 165 pounds.


There will be no break in the action, so we will do a complete report at the conclusion of the semifinals on Saturday evening.
