FLASH: Scott defeats Humphrey in first match at 60kg

Coleman Scott (Stillwater, Okla./Gator WC) advanced to the best two-out-of-three finals of the special Olympic wrestle off at 60 kg /132 lbs. in New York City on Thursday afternoon with a 1-0, 0-1, 1-0 over Reece Humphrey (Columbus, Ohio/New York AC).
Scott won the first period by finishing a single leg takedown from the leg clinch after the two wrestled a scoreless two minutes.
Humphrey countered, winning the second, scoring a late takedown, while Scott again prevailed with the leg clinch to score the decisive point in the third period.
Scott will face Shawn Bunch (Columbus, Ohio/Gator WC) in the finals series on Thursday evening. Wrestling begins at 6 p.m. as a part of the USA vs. Russia dual at the Beat the Streets Gala in Times Square.
