The trophy was small and cheap, built with gaudy red plastic, a ring of stars and a little gold wrestler on the top. It was handed out for participation.
Jordan Burroughs, one of the surest chances the United States has at an Olympic gold medal in London when the Summer Games start later this month, can still remember how much he adored the rudimentary trophy he received as a 5-year-old in Sicklerville for making it through the first tournament he ever wrestled in.
