Six returning champions finish unbeaten on first day of Junior Nationals Greco-Roman tournament

FARGO, N.D. - Six returning champions went unbeaten in the Junior Nationals Greco-Roman competition on Monday night at the FargoDome
Returning champions Colton Howell of Missouri (112 pounds), Tyler Fraley of New Jersey (119), Rossi Bruno of Florida (125), Val Rauser of Montana (130), Dylan Reel of Illinois (160) and Devin Peterson of Wisconsin (189) all recorded unbeaten days on Monday.
Howell went 3-0, Fraley 4-0, Bruno 4-0, Rauser 6-0, Reel 5-0 and Peterson 4-0 on Monday.
The Junior Nationals Greco competition will resume at 9 a.m. Tuesday with the finals scheduled for 2 p.m. in Fargo.
2011 Junior Folkstyle Nationals champions Nkosi Moody of Illinois (98), Jarred Oftedahl of Minnesota (105) and Alex Meyer of Iowa (160) also went unbeaten in Junior Greco on Monday.
Moody went 2-0, Oftedahl 4-0 and Meyer 4-0. Those three wrestlers kept hopes alive to win a coveted Triple Crown. They would need to win Greco and freestyle titles in Fargo to complete the rare triple in wrestling.
Wisconsin's Alex Dieringer (152), an Oklahoma State recruit, went 6-0 in Junior Greco on Monday. Dieringer placed third in Greco here last year before winning a Junior freestyle championship.
Juniors feature the nation's top 16-18 year olds.
