ASICS Folkstyle Nationals underway in Iowa; Junior division is loaded; Webcast is now live

Wrestling has begun on Friday at the USA Wrestling ASICS Folkstyle National Championships at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Competition in the Junior and Cadet divisions will be held on Friday and concludes Saturday.
TheMat.com is provide live streamed matches from the event during the weekend. There will be as many as four streams throughout the event. Shane Sparks will call the action during the Junior finals.
Kids divisions (Bantam, Intermediate, Novice, Schoolboy/girl) begins Saturday and ends Sunday. Veterans competition will be held on Sunday.
The Junior and Cadet divisions are sold out, with only the Kids divisions and Veterans accepting walkups. The quality of the competition will be high in every division.
The Special Guest at this year's event is Brent Metcalf, a member of the 2010 U.S. World Freestyle Team. In college, Metcalf was a two-time NCAA champion and three-time NCAA finalist for the University of Iowa. He was the 2008 Dan Hodge Trophy winner, as the nation's best college wrestler.
A review of the Junior division shows that there are numerous wrestlers who have had high national achievements entered in every weight class. A list of those athletes and their past achievements is below.
Among those wrestling is USA Wrestling Junior Triple Crown winner Freddie Rodriguez of Michigan, who is entered at the 119-pound division.
