TORINO, Italy - The U.S. dropped all four of its opening Greco-Roman bouts at the 2010 FISU University World Championships, held at the Pala Ruffini arena on Friday.

Of the four U.S. wrestlers who dropped first-round matches, only Jarod Trice (Mount Pleasant, Mich./Central Michigan) at 120 kg/264.5 lbs. has qualified for a repechage match. He lost to finalist A. Gasemimonjazi (Iran).

Trice will wrestle against a Russian opponent in the repechage, and if he wins, he will qualify for a bronze-medal bout.

"Trice wrestled well. He had an opportunity to beat his Iranian opponent" said National Greco-Roman Developmental Coach Ike Anderson. "Overall, we didn't perform very well this morning. We weren't executing, and did not have high energy."

An update on the entire competition will follow later today.
