Greco-Roman champions crowned at Northern Plains Senior Regional, the Last Chance Qualifier for World Team Trials

WATERLOO, Iowa - The final seven qualifiers in Greco-Roman for the World Team Trials were determined at the Northern Plains Senior Regionals on Friday.
The champions in each weight class qualify to compete at the World Team Trials in Council Bluffs, Iowa, June 11-12.
Among the champions was Kerry Regner (Darlington, Pa./Sunkist Kids) who beat Esai Dominguez (Omaha, Neb./Maverick WC), 4-0, 3-1 in the finals at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. This was one of the most competitive divisions in the tournament, and Regner was named Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.
At 120 kg/264.5 lbs., Joseph Sheffield (Greensboro, N.C./Y.E.S. Wrestling) defeated Shaun Durfey (Camp LeJeune, N.C./U.S. Marines), 2-0, 1-0. Durfey had won the Northeast Regionals title earlier this month.
Another veteran wrestler who qualified was David Walker, Tacoma, Wash. (Team BGWC) at 96 kg/211.5 lbs., who beat Adam Haake (Winona, Minn./Minnesota Storm), 0-3, 2-0, 3-0.
Other winners of the gold-medal finals were Seth Klinefelter (De Witt, Iowa/Millennium) at 60 kg/132 lbs., Kevin Lozano (Jefferson La./unattached) at 74 kg/163 lbs. and Jordan Holm (Minnesota Storm) at 84 kg/185 lbs.
2009 Junior World Team member Jesse Thielke (Germantown, Wis./Ringers) qualified uncontested at 55 kg/121 lbs.
The freestyle division will be contested on Saturday.
