Nowry gets lone U.S. win on first day of Junior International event in Bulgaria

SOFIA, Bulgaria ""Max Nowry (Wheeling, Ill./USOEC) had a 1-1 record, the top U.S. performance on the first day of the Petko Sirakov and Ivan Iliev Junior International on Saturday.
Competing at 50 kg/110 lbs., Nowry opened with a 3-0, 6-0 win over Abdellaoui Abdenour of Algeria. He was eliminated with a second-round loss to Nikolay Vichev of Bulgaria, 0-1, 1-2.
Three other U.S. athletes were eliminated in their first match. Six more U.S. wrestlers will compete on Sunday.
