Croatia beats USA in Greco-Roman dual in Zagreb, 7-2

ZAGREB, Croatia - The National Greco-Roman team of Croatia defeated a U.S. team in a dual meet on Wednesday by a 7-2 margin.
Winners for the U.S. were Anton Gottfredson (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 74 kg/163 lbs. and Brandon Rupp (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) at 120 kg/264.5 lbs.
Gottfredson beat Tomislav Micuda, 1-0, 1-0. Rupp stopped Vinko Kadeæka, 1-0, 0-2, 3-0.
Rupp wrestled two matches and finished with a 1-1 record. He dropped a match to Anton Dok, 0-5, 0-1, in his other bout.
A large crowd filled the stadium for the event, and the event was televised within Croatia.
The U.S. team will now travel to Szombethely, Hungary, to compete in the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend.
