COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Matt McDonough's magical 2010 continues.

McDonough downed Stanford's Ryan Mango, Ohio State's Ian Paddock and Iowa Hawkeye teammate Nate Moore to win the U.S. Junior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament on Saturday at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.

McDonough now advances to the best-of-3 freestyle finals against FILA Junior Nationals champion Nick Dardanes at 60 kg/132 lbs.

McDonough was an NCAA champion for Iowa earlier this year at 125. McDonough pinned Moore, a past Junior Nationals champion in Fargo, in the Challenge Tournament finals. Moore beat Ramos in the semis. Ramos was fifth in Junior Worlds last year at 55 kg/121 lbs.

The best-of-3 match finals are now set for 5 p.m. in 15 weight classes in the University and Junior World Team Trials in Greco-Roman and freestyle.

Champions in each weight class in the University World Team Trials position themselves for a trip to the University World Championships on Oct. 26-30 in Turin, Italy.

Any wrestler who finishes in the top three at next month's U.S. World Team Trials in freestyle, and is eligible for the University division, can challenge the University World Team Trials champion for the spot on the University World Team.

Champions in each weight class in the Junior World Team Trials advance to the Junior World Championships on July 20-25 in Budapest, Hungary.

Boise State's Jason Chamberlain knocked off 2009 Junior World bronze medalist Jordan Oliver in the Challenge Tournament Junior finals at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. Chamberlain, a 2009 Junior World Team member, will face Minnesota's Danny Zilverberg in the best-of-3 finals. Oliver bumped up a weight in freestyle this season.

Iowa State wrestler Jon Reader looked very impressive in winning the University Challenge Tournament in freestyle at 74 kg/163 lbs. Reader beat Moza Fay, who was fourth in the U.S. Senior Open, in the Challenge Tournament finals.

Reader will face Ohio State's Colt Sponseller in the finals.

One of the best finals matchups is expected in University freestyle at 84 kg/185 lbs. NCAA runner-up Mack Lewnes of Cornell will battle Penn State All-American Quentin Wright.

Tyler Lehman will try to win a Junior title in Greco-Roman after winning a title in freestyle on Friday at 96 kg/211.5 lbs.

Ohio State All-American Nikko Triggas reached the University Greco-Roman finals at 55 kg/121 lbs. He will face Junior World Team member Max Nowry in the finals.

Ben Provisor looked impressive in reaching the Junior Greco-Roman finals at 84 kg/185 lbs. Provisor beat 2009 Junior World teammate Travis Rutt in the Challenge Tournament finals. Provisor has bumped up a weight class this season.
