South Carolina's Brienna Delgado named OW in Junior Nationals women's freestyle competition

FARGO, N.D. - South Carolina's Brienna Delgado won a battle of returning champions to highlight the Junior Nationals women's freestyle competition on Saturday at the FargoDome.
Delgado beat 2009 Junior Nationals champion Jenna Burkert of New York 1-0, 2-0 in the 132-pound finals to capture her second straight championship in Fargo.
Delgado was named Outstanding Wrestler.
California, led by champion Ronny Elor (220), won the team title. Elor placed second in this event last year.
Repeat champions also included Missouri's Emily Webster (98), Michigan's Julia Salata (146) and Idaho's Anneliese DeAragon (165).
U.S. National Team member Kayla Brendlinger of Pennsylvania won the title at 116. She placed third in last month's U.S. World Team Trials against Senior-level competition. Brendlinger was second in Fargo in 2009.
Sisters Mindy and Chrissy Chow of Hawaii were declared co-champions at 124 pounds after the two sisters reached the final round.
