by USA Wrestling

USA Wrestling has released the selection procedures for how the athletes will qualify to compete for the United States at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Singapore, August 16-24.

The first step is that athletes must first enter a qualifying tournament within the United States. For Greco-Roman and men's freestyle, that event is the FILA Cadet National Championships in Akron, Ohio, April 8-11. For women's freestyle, the qualifying tournament will be held in Oklahoma City, Okla., March 26-28.

Those qualified athletes will represent the USA at the Cadet Pan American Qualifying event in Panama City, Panama on May 8-9. It is at this event where the United States must qualify to participate at the YOG.

If any individual remaining did not participate in the events listed above then this criteria will not be used.
6) If a tiebreaker is still necessary and the athletes involved competed in the Cadet Nationals for boys and the Junior Nationals for girls in Fargo ND and none of the athletes placed then the athlete with the most wins will be the USA representative in the YOG.
7)Discretionary Selection
Dominance at the YOG Team Selection Tournament and the Pan Am YOG qualifier. Taken into consideration in no priority order: Points scored, point differential, periods won/lost, points against, strength of weight, matches won, falls
