The other U.S. wrestler who competed on Sunday, Tommy Rowlands (Columbus, Ohio/Sunkist Kids) finished 1-1 at 120 kg/264.5 lbs. and did not qualify for the repechage rounds. The U.S. had one entry on Saturday, Pat Cummins (Rheinholds, Pa./Lehigh Valley AC), who was also 1-1 at 96 kg/211.5 lbs.

Iran won the team title with 69 points, followed by Russia with 40 points and the United States with 36 points.

"Overall, it looked like we had a good tournament. We sent six wrestlers to Iran and came home with four medals"¦ that's a good percentage. We're definitely improving and that's our number one goal"¦ getting better" said National Freestyle Coach Zeke Jones.

Jones was pleased that the depth of the U.S. freestyle program continues to improve.

"One of our measurements that we are grading ourselves on is how the rest of the national team is competing against the best in the world. Not only do we want to see our No. 1 wrestlers win medals but we want to start seeing the depth of our national program have success internationally. Today we're showing that the entire team can compete with the best in the world" said Jones.

An in-depth wrapup from Sunday's competition will be provided by Team Leader Van Stokes on Monday.

Special thanks to journalist Ali Feizasa, who provided in-depth results from Sunday's competition to USA Wrestling.
