USA Wrestling's Gold Medal Training Camp set for Council Bluffs, Iowa, June 10-12

USA Wrestling's popular Gold Medal Training Camp has been set for June 10-12 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
This event will be hosted alongside the World Team Trials for the second straight year. The camp is available to talented wrestlers in grades 7-12 who seek to learn from top college coaching staffs.
Cody Bickley, USA Wrestling's Manager of National Coaches Education Program, has been impressed with the Gold Medal camp.
"Last year's Gold Medal Camp was a resounding success. There were several high quality student-athletes in attendance as 13 individuals went on to compete at the college level" said Bickley. "We are looking forward to another great camp and this is a good opportunity for athletes to showcase themselves in front of four quality college coaching staffs."
With such success last year, Bickley has high expectations for upcoming years.
"My expectations for this camp in the future will be to set the bar higher each year for the minimum requirements to attend. This camp is two fold. It is a great way to get your name out there and also get quality instruction at the same time" said Bickley.
The cost of the camp is $150. Participants will receive four training opportunities with World Class coaches, a USA Wrestling t-shirt, and a general admission ticket to the World Team Trials.
This camp will consist of four training sessions lead by some of the nation's top wrestling coaches, who include:
- University of Nebraska Coaching Staff - Mark Manning
- United States Air Force Academy Coaching Staff - Joel Sharratt, Sam Barber
- University of Maryland Head Coach - Kerry McCoy
- Cornell College/ Hawkeye Wrestling Club Coaching Staff - Mike Duroe
Camp Requirements
Current USA Wrestling Membership
Grades 7-12
Must have been a minimum of a High School State Qualifier
Top 60 wrestlers who pre-register prior to May 31
