Schlatter, Chun, Medina weigh in, receive draws for Wednesday competition at 2009 World Championships

The final U.S. men's freestyle wrestler, and the first two women's freestylers have weighed in and received their draws for the third day of competition at the 2009 World Wrestling Championships at the Messecenter Herning in Herning, Denmark.

Dustin Schlatter (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) takes to the mat at 74kg and will face an opening round draw against Ramesh Kumar of India. Kumar was third in the Asian Championships back in May and finished fourth in the 2004 Olympic Games.

Notable wrestlers on the top side of the bracket with Schlatter are Azerbaijan's Chamsulvara Chamsulvaraev, the 2009 European Champion and Bulgarian Kiril Terziev, the 2008 Olympic Bronze Medalist.

Reigning World Champion Clarissa Chun (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) is in the top half of the bracket at 48kg and will draw Mehvynna Tambunan of Singapore in the opening round. Looming in the bottom half of the top bracket is Kazakhstan's Jyldyz Eshimova, the wrestler Chun beat in Tokyo last year to win her World title.

Japan, the world power in women's wrestling, entered Makiko Sakamoto. She's in the bottom half of the draw.

First-time World Teamer Jessica Medina (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) will take to the mat at 51kg and will see Vietnam's Thi Dieu Nihn Tran in the opening round. Tran was second in the Asian Junior Championships in July.

Medina's only other World-level experience came at the 2006 Junior Worlds, where she finished third.
