Humphrey, ranked No. 1 in the 141-pound weight class, earns his first Big Ten Wrestler of the Week honor after posting a 4-0 mark last week to help Ohio State to four dual meet victories. On Friday against 16th-ranked Lehigh, Humphrey squared off with No. 15 Seth Ciasulli in a dual that ended with Humphrey claiming a 7-1 decision and leading the Buckeyes to a 22-12 victory. On Sunday in the Buckeye Duals, the senior guided OSU to three dominating dual victories. Individually, Humphrey pinned two opponents, Findlay's Josh Falk and Cleveland State's Ronald Butler and also defeated Notre Dame College's Adam Koballa by a 5-3 decision, marking his 100th career win.

Pataky wins his first Big Ten Wrestler of the Week honor following a three-win week in which he led the Nittany Lions to a 3-0 mark in Sunday's Sprawl & Brawl Duals. The No. 6-ranked Pakaty opened the day by winning a 6-3 dual over Rutgers' Vincent Dellefave, helping PSU to an 18-17 victory. In PSU's second dual of the day, a 36-6 win over Harvard, the junior pinned Steven Keith for six points toward his team's total. In the team's final dual against No. 15 Edinboro, Pataky battled to a 4-0 win over the eighth-ranked 125-pounder Eric Morrill as the Nittany Lions won the dual, 22-9.

Mitcheff named MAC Wrestler of the Week

CLEVELAND - Kent State is now 2-for-2 in earning Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week honors this season as Danny Mitcheff (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria) claimed the award on Tuesday. Mitcheff has now been named MAC Wrestler of the Week in four consecutive seasons.
For the second straight weekend Mitcheff won a tournament title by going 4-0 Saturday at the Body Bar Invitational in Ithaca. He recorded an opening round pin of Binghamton's Rob Slavin followed by a 5-3 win over Maryland's Mookie Golden. After a comeback overtime victory against Steve Mytych of Drexel, Mitcheff downed 18th-ranked Kevin Smith of Buffalo 6-3 in the finals. The 133-pound bracket also included No. 7 Mike Grey of Cornell, who fell to Smith in the semifinals.
Mitcheff improved to 10-0 on the season and ran his career win total to 107. One week earlier he knocked off a pair of nationally ranked opponents (Billy Ashnault- Rutgers/Ian Paddock- Ohio State) to capture first place at the Oklahoma Gold Tournament.
Last week, KSU's Dustin Kilgore (Berea, Ohio/Berea) was named as the first MAC Wrestler of the Week this season.
The Golden Flashes, who were ranked 14th in the latest NWCA/USA Today poll, return to action Dec. 13, hosting dual meets with Michigan and Newberry at the M.A.C. Center.

Upper Iowa's Schultz named NSIC Wrestler of the Week

Schultz won the title in the 184 gold bracket with a 4-0 record at the Brute/Adidas Open hosted by Augsburg College. He dominated his four matches to earn the first place finish as he picked up a tech fall (15-0) and a fall (6:45) in his first two matches to advance to the semi-finals. There, Schultz lined up with C.D. Johnson of Southwest Minnesota State, the NSIC preseason #3 at 184 pounds. Schultz won the match by decision 5-2 to earn his shot at the title. He then shutout Vinny Campanile of Ellsworth in the finals, 5-0, to earn the decision and the title. On the season, Schultz has posted an 8-1 record including two wins by fall and one by tech fall.

Charlie Alexander named RMAC Wrestler of the Week

Charlie Alexander (Central Point, Ore./Crater H.S.) went 5-0 with two falls and three major decisions. He also earned the Outstanding Wrestler award at the Northern Colorado Open. He also was the champion of the heavyweight class.
