USA beats Bulgaria, 8-6, in Junior Greco-Roman Dual in Varna, Bulgaria

VARNA, Bulgaria - A team of top U.S. FILA Junior wrestlers won a competitive dual meet against the Bulgarian Junior National Team on Wednesday by an 8-6 score.
The U.S. won the first three matches, and closed out with the last two victories to capture the dual meet.
Two U.S. wrestlers won their match by pin, Jonathan Drendel at 74 kg/163 lbs. and Paul Tellgren at 55 kg/121 lbs.
"Our athletes wrestled very well, after traveling from Sofia to Varna. The team arrived in Varna at 4:30 a.m. today, and the dual meet was at 4:00 p.m. I am very proud of their effort," said National Greco-Roman Developmental Coach Ike Anderson.
The team will compete in another dual meet this week, then participate in the Petro Sirakov and Ivan Iliev Junior International in Varna, March 7-8.
