BELGRADE, Serbia - 2006 World bronze medalist Lindsey Durlacher returned to the mat and won a bronze medal at the Gedza International this past weekend.

Durlacher (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) retired after the 2008 Olympic Trials, but has decided to return to Greco-Roman competition this season at 55 kg/121 lbs.

Durlacher had a 2-1 record in the event, including a victory over Dawid Karecinski of Poland in the bronze-medal bout, 1-0, 1-0. His only loss was to 2007 World bronze medalist Kristijan Fris of Serbia.

American Cheney Haight (Orem, Utah/New York AC/USOEC) also won a bronze medal in the event at 74 kg/163 lbs.

Haight went 3-1 in the tournament, including a victory over U.S. teammate Andrew Bisek (Chaska, Minn./Minnesota Storm), 5-0, 0-1, 3-0. Haight lost in the second match, but won both of his repechage bouts.

Along with Bisek, C.C. Fisher and T.C. Dantzler each placed fifth for the U.S., after losing in their bronze-medal matches. Fisher (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) competes at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. and Dantzler (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) is at 84 kg/185 lbs.

Dantzler was a 2008 Olympian. Durlacher and Dantzler helped lead the U.S. to the 2007 World team title in Greco-Roman wrestling.

The U.S. also competed in a Greco-Roman dual meet against Serbia last Thursday. The U.S. won the dual 5-3. Earning wins in the dual for the U.S. were Haight, Bisek, Chas Betts (St. Michael, Minn./Minnesota Storm/USOEC), Dantzler and R.C. Johnson (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids).
