Returning champion Ryan Mango off to fast start as Junior Nationals Greco-Roman tournament kicks off

FARGO, N.D. - The favorites all did what they were supposed to during the first session of the Junior Nationals Greco-Roman tournament.
There were no major upsets as the Juniors took the mats on Sunday morning at the FargoDome.
This is Day 2 of the ASICS/Vaughan Cadet and Junior National championships.
2008 Junior Nationals double champion Ryan Mango of Missouri is off to a 2-0 start in Greco at 119 pounds. Mango won the FILA Junior Nationals earlier this year and is the younger brother of 2008 Olympian and 2009 World Team member Spenser Mango. Ryan is a Stanford recruit.
Four other returning Junior Nationals champs - Jake Bellis of Illinois (105), Kendrick Sanders of Florida (152), Kalvin York of Wisconsin (152) and Ethen Lofthouse of Utah (171) - made it through the first session unscathed.
Also, past Junior World Team member Tyler Cox of Wyoming is wrestling at 112. He had a bye in the first round and has not wrestled a match yet.
Four 2008 Cadet Nationals Greco-Roman champions - Dylan Ness of Minnesota (140), Andrew Campolattano of New Jersey (189), Michael Sojka of Illinois (215) and Evan Craig of Pennsylvania (285).
There are 805 wrestlers entered in the Junior Nationals Greco-Roman competition. There are 15 more wrestlers entered than in last year's event.
The Junior Nationals Greco-Roman competition will resume at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the FargoDome.
The Cadet Greco-Roman competition will continue on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with the finals set for Monday at 5:30 p.m. in Fargo.
