UPDATED - Golston, Slane win gold at Canada Cup Junior Championship

GUELPH, Canada -Two U.S. wrestlers won gold medals at the Canada Cup Junior Championship at the Univ. of Guelph on Sunday.
In the girls division, Erin Golston (Lake in the Hills, Ill./USOEC) won a gold medal at 43 kg.
Golston won three matches on the way to the title. She pinned her first two opponents, then defeated Canadian Lea Lenteigne of Team ONT in the championship finals.
Golston is with the U.S. Olympic Education Center women's program at Northern Michigan University. She is a junior at Marquette High School there.
In the boy's division, Joe Slane (Tompkins Cove, N.Y./New England All-Stars) won a gold medal at 58 kg.
Slane won four matches in the tournament, and beat three athletes from other nations, a Canadian and two Korean opponents. In the finals, he stopped Du-ha Kim of Korea.
The tournament featured competition in both men's and women's freestyle wrestling.
The U.S. won a total of five medals in the event.
Winning a silver medal at 46 kg was Kayleigh Longley (South Berwick, Maine/Maine WC). Longley won her first two bouts, including a pin against Gail Armour of Nova Scotia. In the finals, she was beaten by Canadian Madison Park of Team ONT.
A boys team from the Mohawk Valley Wrestling Club from Central New York entered the tournament. The Mohawk Valley team had a pair of individual medalists, silver medalist Dustin Moss (East Syracuse, N.Y./Mohawk Valley) at 76 kg and Alex Meyers (Morrisville, N.Y./Mohawk Valley) at 85 kg.
Moss won his first three matches, which placed him in the championship match, where he lost to Spencer Watkins of Team AB.
Meyers lost in the first round to Jordan Ferguson of Team AB, but stormed back with four straight wins. He beat Ferguson in the consolation semifinals. For third place, he defeated Mohawk Valley teammate Sean Hennigan.
