Pat Smith and Terry Steiner to go ‘On the Mat’ this week

NCAA champions Pat Smith and Terry Steiner will be radio show guests Wednesday night.

Pat Smith became the first of only two wrestlers to win four NCAA titles as an Oklahoma State Cowboy in the early 1990s. Wrestling at 158 pounds, Smith compiled a collegiate record of 121-5-2. He is currently running the Arkansas Wrestling Academy in Little Rock and has brought hundreds of athletes into the sport of wrestling. Smith is a member of the most successful wrestling family in American history that includes older brothers Lee Roy and John, and younger brother Mark, who combined to win seven NCAA titles and 14 All-American honors at Oklahoma State University.

Terry Steiner was a three-time All-American and 1993 NCAA champion at 150 pounds for the University of Iowa. Originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, Steiner was a two-time state champion for Century High School and was a gold medalist at the 1996 Pan American Championships. Steiner has been in his role as USA Wrestling's full-time National Women's freestyle coach since 2002. Steiner and the women's freestyle team are currently training in Poland and will be competing in a tournament there on August 13 & 14.
