One of the best matches of the University Nationals was the Sunday morning wrestleback between Big Ten rivals Franklin Gomez of Michigan State and Jayson Ness of Minnesota.

Gomez scored on a pushout just before time expired to pull out a wild, three-period win at 60 kg/132 lbs.
