Beat the Streets-Columbus is launched; Clinic set for April 4

The Columbus Wrestling Club Executive Director Brian Church, is pleased to announce a new partnership with USA Wrestling.
The Beat the Streets Wrestling Program-Columbus, Ohio, launched its initial model school program at the Columbus Africentric Middle School during the 2008-2009 wrestling season.
Over a dozen wrestlers participated in the wrestling program two days a week for 8 weeks. Wrestlers were provided shoes, headgear, shorts and T-shirts to practice in.
The Beat the Streets - Columbus program will also be hosting a wrestling clinic for wrestlers, parents, administrators and coaches on Saturday April 4th at the Linden Recreation Center 1254 Briarwood Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43211.
The clinic is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. - 5:00pm and will provide basic fundamental wrestling technique, a motivational speech, and catered lunch.
Assisting with instruction at the clinic are two national team members, JD Bergman and Shawn Bunch, members of the Ohio Regional Training center (Ohio RTC).
Tommy Rowlands, Head Coach of the Ohio RTC, is a lifelong product of Columbus, winning two NCAA Championships for Ohio State University
"Ohio RTC is dedicated to helping wrestling in the greater Columbus area while training elite athletes for World and Olympic competition," said Rowlands.
