The excitement of the Olympic Games in Beijing brings the opportunity to celebrate the success of our U.S. Olympic wrestlers after the Olympic Games.
On Sunday, August 31, USA Wrestling supporter Dan McCabe, the CEO of Next Investments, will open his home in Upper Saddle River, N.J. for a post-Olympic Games celebration where friends, family and those with a desire to show financial support of our entire U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team will gather.
Expected to attend the special evening is 2008 Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo, the talented young star who captured the hearts of Americans with his stunning and emotional victory at 55 kg in men's freestyle wrestling. Other 2008 Olympic Wrestling Medalists have been invited.
At the function, checks will be given to the wrestling medalists that attend from the private reward provided by wrestling enthusiast Ken Honig, who is providing $25,000 to a gold medalist, $17 to a silver medalist and $5,000 to a bronze medalist in wrestling.
"Dan McCabe appreciates what benefits can come from participating in our great sport and supports the efforts of USA Wrestling in providing these opportunities for over 160 thousand young Americans," said Larry Nugent, Director of Development for USA Wrestling. "Without support from excellent people like Dan we could not properly do our job."
The deadline for donations to the Fuel the Dream program, which directly benefits Olympic wrestlers, is August 31, the day of the celebration at the McCabe home.
USA Wrestling established Fuel the Dream to benefit directly the men and women of our Olympic Wrestling Teams. When you contribute to Fuel the Dream, 50% of your donation will go, without any reductions, to the individuals of the 2008 Olympic Wrestling Team. The other 50% goes to help train athletes that will be on future World and Olympic Wrestling Teams.
USA Wrestling is a 501 (c) (3) and your contribution is tax deductible. All donations over $25 will receive a unique Fuel the Dream 2008 Olympic Games pin.
