There is still an opportunity for high school wrestlers to enter the first annual USA Wrestling Boys & Girls Preseason Folkstyle Nationals, which will be hosted at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines, Iowa on Oct. 25.
Athletes who missed the on-line registration deadline may still enter the tournament as walk-in participants.
Anybody who has not registered can sign up for the tournament by attending the official weigh-ins on Friday, October 24th at Veterans Auditorium from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. There will be no walk-ins permitted on Saturday morning.
The entry fee for any walk-up participants is $58, which is the pre-registration fee plus an additional $20.
The tournament has shaped up to be one of the best early season high school age tournaments in the nation.
Pre-registration ended with 507 athletes entered, from at least 34 states. Included in the field are 22 state champions and 33 state runners-up.
The event is open to all high school wrestlers nationwide in grades 9-12. The Boys and Girls will wrestle in separate divisions.
The tournament will begin on Saturday, October 25th at 9:00 a.m.
USA Wrestling will be offering a NCEP Bronze Clinic at the USA Wrestling Boys & Girls Preseason Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa.
