REMINDER: TODAY October 21 is deadline for USA Wrestling Preseason Folkstyle Nationals in Iowa

The deadline for online registration for the first annual USA Wrestling Boys & Girls Preseason Folkstyle Nationals is coming up quickly.
Registration closes at 12:00 midnight on Tuesday, October 21.

The tournament is shaping up to be one of the best early season high school age tournaments in the nation.
As of October 16, there are over 420 athletes registered, representing 33 different states. Included in the field are 21 individual state champions, 30 state runners-up and numerous other state placewinners. This number is expected to get even higher as the registration deadline approaches.
The event will take place at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines, Iowa on Oct. 25. It is open to all high school wrestlers nationwide in grades 9-12. The Boys and Girls will wrestle in separate divisions.
All of the weight classes in the boys tournament are expected to be large and very competitive. As of October 16, the weight class entry numbers are:

112 lbs.: 35
119 lbs.: 46
125 lbs.: 34
130 lbs.: 47
135 lbs.: 33
140 lbs.: 34
145 lbs.: 34
152 lbs.: 36
160 lbs.: 29
171 lbs.: 22
189 lbs.: 21
215 lbs.: 10
285 lbs.: 5
Total: 414
Female wrestlers are strongly encouraged to participate in the USA Wrestling Girls Preseason Nationals so they can gain experience wrestling in a national tournament.
Weigh-ins are on Friday, October 24th at Veterans Auditorium from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.
The tournament will begin on Saturday, October 25th at 8:00 AM.
USA Wrestling will be offering a NCEP Bronze Clinic at the USA Wrestling Boys & Girls Preseason Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa.
