Three Ultimate Challenge Series events are new this year. These new events include a tournament in Florida, and two new Folkstyle Tour of America events.
The Folkstyle Tour of America is in its second year, with new events added in Georgia and Wisconsin, which will follow the popular Salt Lake Slam. The Salt Lake Slam was a huge success last year, so USA Wrestling is expecting an even bigger and more competitive field this year. For more information regarding the Folkstyle Tour of America, please visit the following website:

The new event in Florida is the Southeast Regional Folkstyle Championship, set for Jacksonville, March 6-7, 2009.
As with years past, the top-three individual point scorers in each age group division will be awarded an Ultimate Challenge Series Championship Belt. However, to keep the series more competitive, the belts will be awarded to individuals based on their top-seven placement scores in the Ultimate Challenge Series. The belts for all four age-group divisions will be awarded at the conclusion of the 2009 ASICS USA Wrestling Folkstyle National Championships.
The Ultimate Dominator will be determined by the individual who scores the most points in all four age divisions. The Ultimate Dominator will also be determined using each individual's top-seven placement scores. USA Wrestling will recognize the Ultimate Dominator following the competition at the 2009 ASICS USA Wrestling Folkstyle National Championships.
