Fuel the Dream program to raise funds to directly benefit 2008 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Teams

A new fundraising initiative called "Fuel the Dream" has been launched that will give all Americans the opportunity to give our wrestling Olympians a leg up as they approach the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
Thanks to the generosity of many contributors, both large and small, the American wrestling community will financially assist our Olympians on the Road to Beijing.
A special "Fuel the Dream" event will be held on June 21, in part sponsored by the Hanson family, the owners of the Bernards Inn in Bernardsville, N.J. The event will bring the 2008 Olympic Wrestling Teams for a special send off to Beijing.
USA Wrestling and the Hanson family encourage the entire nation to get behind the effort.
"As the father of an aspiring wrestler, I respect and honor the challenges America's athletes have overcome to reach the Olympic stage. Everyone should contribute what they can," said Jeff Hanson.
"No amount is too small," said Larry Nugent the Director of Development for USA Wrestling. "If everyone that reads this contributes even one dollar, our Olympians will feel the strength of the support for them… and their supporters will feel like a part of the competition later this August in Beijing!"
When you contribute to Fuel The Dream, 50% of your donation will go, without any reductions, to the individuals who have qualified for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team by winning the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Las Vegas, Nev., June 13-15 at the Thomas & Mack Center. (usawrestlinglasvegas.com) The other 50% goes to help train athletes that will be on future World and Olympic Teams.

Our nation's top wrestlers must make sacrifices during their quest to represent the United States at the Olympic Games. Many delay careers and families to concentrate completely on their training, while others must juggle careers and family obligations to compete.
Your donations will do three important things for these athletes who have paid the price.
1. It will assist them in bringing their family members to Beijing.
2. It will allow them to focus their attention on the training necessary to defeat their opponents in Beijing instead of worrying about making ends meet.
3. It will provide inspiration by showing them the depth of support you have for them. Each donation helps no matter how much you contribute.
