New Jersey still leads with most gifts

The Fuel the Dream program, created to directly support the athletes our 2008 Olympic Wrestling Team and for training future Olympic and World Teams, continues to attract donations from across America and the wrestling community.

"It is now officially easier to tell how many states have not contributed than have," said Larry Nugent, USA Wrestling's Director of Development. "We hope as least one person from each state will be proudly wearing their Olympic/Wrestling/Fuel the Dream pin during the Olympic competition in August."

A donor from State of Washington was the first to contribute, but New Jersey quickly took the lead and still has it.

The second most gifts have come from Illinois which has recently made a strong push. States tied in third place are California, Washington and Pennsylvania.

USA Wrestling has established an initiative called Fuel the Dream designed to benefit directly the men and women of our Olympic Teams. When you contribute to Fuel the Dream, 50% of your donation will go, without any reductions, to the individuals that competed and made the 2008 Olympic Team at the Olympic Trials. The other 50% goes to help train athletes that will be on future World and Olympic Teams. USA Wrestling is a 501 (c) (3) and your contribution is tax deductible.

America's wrestlers make significant sacrifices on the road to representing the USA at the Olympic Games. Many delay careers and families, and others pursue careers and families while competing in what we believe is the world's toughest sport.

All donations over $25 will receive a unique Fuel the Dream 2008 Olympic Games pin.

Be a real part of our Olympic effort. It only happens once every four years. Do it now… go to www.fuelthedream.org and give as much as you can…and be a part of the effort.
