48 kg/105.5 lbs. - Clarissa Chun (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids)
On the semifinal loss to Icho:
"I could've and should've done better against Japan. I think I needed to get my wrestling going a little bit more. I kind of fell into her game plan."
On having the lead in the third period:
"She's good at controlling the center of the mat, but I don't think she's great. I think I can beat her next time I wrestle her."
"I started off well. I definitely felt that I was able to get to her legs. I just wasn't able to finish. I know I could've won that match, no doubt. I'm very upset I didn't attack more. I got too caught up in her tie-ups and her pushing on me. I should've fought harder."
On regrouping for her bronze-medal match:
"It's hard right now. I really wanted that gold. I owe it to myself and to my country to go and get that bronze."
U.S. National coach Terry Steiner (Colorado Springs, Colo.)
"We started out strong and got our offenses going. That's what we've talked about all through camp. Getting out there and dominating. We had lapses. Clarissa had lapses in all three matches. It cost us in the match against Icho. We wrestled a tough match. We let up on the edge of the mat and got driven out of bounds."
On Van Dusen's performance:
"She did what she had to do in the first match. We started a little bit slow, but we came back. We started too slow again in the second match and couldn't recover. We're better than that. We can't tighten up like that."
On Chun coming back to wrestle for a bronze:
"She has to let that (semifinal) loss go. It's a lot easier walking out of here with a bronze medal than no medal. She's got to move on to the next match against China or Ukraine. She has to be ready. She can go with anybody in the World. She just has to wrestle all the way through the match and keep wrestling. She has to keep her motion and her offense going."
