The Streak," a two-hour documentary on the wrestling program at Brandon High School, will air tonight on ESPN 2, 9 p.m. EST.

The documentary follows a program that set a national record of 459 consecutive victories, the most ever by any high school sports team in the country.

Brandon High School wrestling has been coached by Russ Cozart since 1980, but the winning streak goes all the way back to 1974. Cozart is well known in the wrestling community for his achievements at Brandon and for his dedication to the sport.

"We were honored and humbled by the experience," said Cozart. "I've been a coach for 32 years. I've had national champs, state champs, and guys that have gone on to compete in college."

The experience was partially humbling because Brandon lost during the season, ending its winning streak at 459.

"It was a tough loss to take, but we got up and came back to win the state championship," said Cozart.

The film is produced by Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa in association with Jon Hock and Hock films. Consuelos attended Brandon High School and was impacted by the program in his time there.

"The Streak" follows the 2007-08 wrestling season at Brandon High.

"It was very humbling," Cozart said. "There are a lot of great wrestling programs in the United States. Wrestling is a very rich sport in the USA. There are so many great coaches, so many great programs. Americans take their wrestling very passionately."

Tune in tonight at 9 p.m. EST to ESPN 2 to learn more about the most successful high school sports program in the country.

It took many people with vision to bring this story to the nation, including Consuelos, Ripa, a number of people at ESPN, and Cozart and his program.

"It's my wildest dream," said Cozart. "This will do something for wrestling in America. We're very lucky to be the subject of a feature on ESPN. There are a lot of great programs out there and there are a lot of great stories in wrestling. We're just one of them."

The film has been widely anticipated in Brandon, Fla., and could also have a great impact on wrestling in the United States.

"I hope that this is just one of many films on our great sport that get out there in the public and get us in the living rooms of average Americans," Cozart said. "We want to show them how American wrestling really is."
